What Moneta is

Moneta is an app for two-person households. You tell it what you spent, in your own words, and it writes the amount into proper double-entry books — the same bookkeeping method banks use — for both of you. It answers questions about your money with figures read from your own records.

Accounts and the free trial

One account holds one household. Every household starts with a free 30-day trial — no card needed. The trial clock starts when your household is set up (the books created and your starting balances in), not when you sign up.

Either member of a household may pay for it. The subscription covers the whole household — both of you, no per-seat fees.

Price and billing

Household Basic costs USD 3.99 a month, or USD 3.00 a month billed USD 36 a year (25% off). Payments are processed by our payment provider, Creem, as the merchant of record. Your plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.

Cancelling and pausing

Cancel any time from the app's subscription screen — your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. There are no cancellation fees.

Going away for a while? Pause instead of leaving: your books stay safe and downloadable for a year, and you can come back any time.

If a household member leaves, the household's books are kept for 30 days from the lock, then deleted for good. A paying household that pauses keeps its books for a year.

Your AI key

Moneta runs on the AI provider key you bring. Your key is stored encrypted and is never shared — not with us in readable form, and not with any other household. The AI provider charges them, not your Moneta subscription.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date above. If a change is material, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
